Webmail is available at https://mail.chem.ucla.edu/ for non-forwarding accounts.
Please note it is atypical for graduate students, undergraduate students, and postdocs to have webmail mailboxes, but common to have forwarding accounts.
Change Forwarding Address
To change the address your @chem.ucla.edu email is forwarded to contact itsupport@chem.ucla.edu . It is recommended to use your @g.ucla.edu as your forwarding address.
Sending as Forwarding Account
It is possible to send as the email address associated with a forwarding account if the client used to access the forwarded address allows for it.
- outgoing server: smtp.chem.ucla.edu
- outgoing port/encryption: 587/(START)TLS or 465/SSL
- outgoing authentication type: (normal) password
There are also have specific instuctions for gmail accounts, including @g.ucla.edu accounts.
e.g. Outlook, mail.app, Thunderbird

- incoming server: mail.chem.ucla.edu
- incoming port/encyption: 143/(START)TLS or 993/SSL
- outgoing server: smtp.chem.ucla.edu
- outgoing port/encryption: 587/(START)TLS or 465/SSL
- outgoing authentication type: (normal) password
